GRAND OPERETTA AT ST. PETER'S CHURCH

There was a crowded schoolroom on Monday when the operetta "Lollipop Land" (written and composed by George Tootell, Mus Bac. F.R.C.O.), was given by the teachers and the scholars of the Sunday School. The following were the characters:
  • Lollipop XIV. (King of Lollipop Land):    Mr. Cecil Wood;
  • Princess Pansy (his daughter):    Miss A. Pinder;
  • Dame Mouldy (Princess Pansy's Chaperone):   Miss Annie Kendal;
  • Prince Faithful:   Mr. Frank Webster;
  • Lord Humbug:   Mr. Leonard Hicks;
  • The three Freebooters:
    1. C. Captain Pot‑Hook:   Mr. John Kershaw;
    2. Corporal Pick Purse:    Mr. John Broadbent;
    3. Lieutenant Lock‑Breaker:   Mr. Victor Cox;
  • Captain of the Guard:   Mr Donald Sykes;
  • Violet (a village girl):   Miss Lily Gill;
  • The King's Secretary:   Mr. Ed Walker;
  • Queen of the Fairies:  Miss Hainsworth;
  • Nora (a fairy):  Miss Connie Gill;
  • Will-o- wisp (a sprite):   Miss Ida Powell;

The accompanist was Miss E. Broadbent. The performance was very creditably given and reflected great credit upon Miss Fisher, who had trained them.
